Bizarre ’70s Cult Film The Baby On Stage
Lex Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Based on the bizarre cult ’70s film of the same name, The Baby is now a stage play adapted and directed by Dan Spurgeon. The story centers on Ann, a social worker who comes to visit the Wadsworth family and discovers their “baby” is actually a 21-year-old man with the mental state of an infant. He sleeps in a crib, wears a diaper, and even breastfeeds. And from there it’s safe to say things get weird. Love story? Horror flick? It’s anyone’s guess. The only certainty is that there’s a shock around every corner. And now that it’s live on stage, the disturbing elements are even more visceral.
