Hide your windmills, because everyone’s favorite mad knight, Don Quixote, is coming to town in the musical adaptation Man of La Mancha. Full of memorable songs, including the standard “The Impossible Dream,” this 1965 adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes’ timeless tale is one of Broadway’s most enduring works. In this play within a play, Cervantes, awaiting an interrogation with the Spanish Inquisition, decides to stage his novel Don Quixote. Now his fellow inmates will enact this story of the aged nobleman who declares himself a knight errant and sets out with his sidekick, Sancho Panza, to battle giants (actually windmills) and rescue the fair maiden Dulcinea.
