Cliff, a wisecracking truck driver hoping for a quick hookup, gets much more than he bargained for from an introverted wallflower in this comedy-drama by renowned playwright William Mastrosimone (Extremities, Bang Bang You’re Dead). Set in South Philadelphia, The Woolgatherer finds Cliff looking for a quick one-night stand at the dingy apartment of Rose, a shy and seemingly flighty salesgirl whose penchant for fantasy leads to unexpected complications. The play won the L.A. Drama Critics Award in 1982, and is staged here by Oxnard’s Elite Theatre.
