San Francisco Opera Screening: Giuseppe Verdi's "Attila"

For those who aren’t able to see the San Francisco Opera in person, we’ve got the next best thing for you. The Opera filmed their marvelous production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Attila in a high-definition, multi-camera shoot, and it will be projected in Blu-Ray with stereo sound. Perhaps Verdi’s most dramatic and compelling opera, Atilla centers on a daughter’s plan to avenge her father’s death at the hand of the fearsome title character. One of history’s fiercest warriors, the dreaded Hun — sung by bass Ferruccio Furlanetto — proves no match for his nemesis, Odabella, portrayed here by Venezuelan soprano Lucrecia Garcia, and her coconspirator Ezio, portrayed by baritone Quinn Kelsey. Acclaimed bass Samuel Ramey sings the role of Pope Leo I.
