For the 24th year in a row, original Dreamgirl Sheryl Lee Ralph brings together a multitalented cast for her AIDS benefit concert, DIVAS Simply Singing! This year’s event honors Dionne Warwick and features a special tribute to ’70s disco legend Sylvester by Pippin‘s Anthony Wayne, also the star of the off-Broadway Sylvester musical, Mighty Real. It’s an uplifting night of song and edutainment with a lineup that includes veteran stage and screen actress Jenifer Lewis (Think Like A Man, The Princess and the Frog), Renee Lawless (The Haves and the Have Nots), The Voice winner Tessanne Chin, Kenny Lattimore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le, Jamar Rogers, David Hernandez, Paula Jai Parker and gospel music star Anita Wilson. The concert series benefits The DIVA Foundation, which is committed to promoting HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
