Othello and Desdemona have it all — true love, success and happiness. But “honest” Iago is a master of manipulation, a magician of deceit who does harm merely for the pleasure of it. One of the most compelling villains ever written, Iago draws Othello and the audience into his spider’s web of half-truths. Horrified and enthralled, you can’t help but be fascinated by him, even as he transforms love into hate and happiness into misery. This production of Othello, presented by Odyssey Theatre & The New American Theatre, stars A Martinez, who appeared as the legendary outlaw Tiburcio Vasquez in Luis Valdez’ Bandido at the Mark Taper Forum.
