Bridges Auditorium (Claremont, CA)
Two of country rock’s most talented offspring, Shooter Jennings (son of Waylon) and Lukas Nelson (son of Willie), co-headline the annual Claremont Community Foundation benefit concert at Bridges Auditorium with a night of rootsy Americana music. The prolific Jennings has written and recorded everything from outlaw-alt country to psychedelic Southern rock over the course of his career, showing off his versatility with two 2014 EP releases saluting George Jones and ’70s dance music pioneer Giorgio Moroder. Lukas Nelson and his acclaimed group Promise of the Real have also made a name for themselves as a hard-touring Southern indie rock band with a blues-folk influence. They’ve been featured on Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as playing major festivals and benefits. Local artist Peter Harper and Racing Alone open the show.
