"Love, Sex and the I.R.S."

A farce of mistaken identities and hilariously tangled subplots, Love, Sex and the IRS centers on Jon and Leslie, two heterosexual men who’ve been roommates for years. In an attempt to save money, Jon has filed income tax returns listing the pair as married. But the plan quickly goes awry when the IRS comes to investigate. Now, Leslie must pretend to be Jon’s wife, while Jon’s mother also comes by to meet her son’s fiancée and the landlord — who doesn’t approve of unwed couples under the same roof — pokes around. Love, Sex and the IRS was written by the Emmy-nominated writing team of Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, creators of the off-Broadway hit You’ve Got Hate Mail.
