The El Rey Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)
Hear 40 oz. to Freedom, the seminal 1992 album from California ska-punk legends Sublime, when nationally touring tribute group Badfish plays the El Rey Theatre. Hailing from Providence, R.I., Badfish has become one of the biggest tribute bands working today with their high-energy renditions of “What I Got,” “Santeria,” “Wrong Way” and other tunes by the late, great Bradley Nowell and his Long Beach, Calif.-bred band. The group plays more than a hundred shows across America yearly, from the East Coast and the Midwest to Sublime’s home territory and beyond. The band doesn’t just play covers — they replicate Sublime’s true essence and are bringing the spirit and fury of the band’s debut album (plus other hits) to the El Rey.
