Saban Theatre (Beverly Hills, CA)
Grab your best frock and hop on the bus for an ode to Oz. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles is gearing up for Down Under, a “ridgy-didge” celebration of some of the biggest singers and composers from Australia and New Zealand. The chorus will pay tribute to divas like Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John and, of course, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. They’ll sing their way through the ’70s and ’80s with tracks by the Bee Gees, Men at Work and INXS. Plus, they’ll tip their hats to contemporary hit-makers like Sia and Lorde. While it won’t be strictly ballroom, you can also expect some Baz Luhrmann in the show’s line-up. Down Under‘s musical walk-about sets out from Beverly Hills’ Saban Theatre.
