Breaking into the film industry is tough when you’re homeless, but that doesn’t stop a transient from pitching his script to Mallory Clarkson in the play How I Saw It. The guy’s problems don’t stop there, especially once Clarkson reveals why she suddenly retired from the film industry. How I Saw It is one of five productions featured in “Shorties,” a night of short plays written and directed by women at Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica. Also featured are tales of segregated beaches, reunited lovers and one pissed-off cat.
