The Sherry Theatre (North Hollywood, CA)
Fitzgerald. Zelda. Hemingway. Their names alone evoke such glamour, fame, fortune and tragedy. These towering literary figures became the rocks stars of their era and Lost Generation gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the jazz age celebrities. This new production by playwright Don Nigro tells the story of the trio’s complex and dangerous friendship triangle and does so with all the sophisticated banter and beautiful language befitting its subjects. You’ll watch them when they’re riding high — Paris, New York, adoring fans and plenty of money. You’ll also see them at their lowest — addiction, crippling artistic and personal insecurities, jealousy, mental illness. With Lost Generation, Nigro peels away the swagger of Hemingway, enters the tortured mind and soul of Fitzgerald, and dares to broach the possibility that Zelda was the real talent in the family. Collaborative Artists Ensemble presents the world premiere of this fascinating tale of three American icons at North Hollywood’s Sherry Theater.
