Kevin Breit’s CD release concert for his latest double-CD set Ernesto and Delilah will be held on June 25 at Hugh’s Room in Toronto. Accompanying Breit will be talented actress and singer Rebecca Jenkins and the Upper York Mandolin Quartet. Ernesto and Delilah takes a beautifully unique approach to two distinctly different sounds. Ernesto focuses on bold Brazilian instrumentals, whereas Delilah focuses on intimate story-telling folk duets with Jenkins.
As one of Canada’s most creative and exceptional guitarists Breit has been honoured with multiple awards including JUNO awards and Maple Blues Awards. He has also performed on recordings that have won ten Grammy Awards. Breit’s talents have been noticed and admired by colleagues in the industry which has allowed him to perform and record with the likes of Cassandra Wilson, Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, k.d. Lang, Hugh Laurie, Harry Manx and countless others.
There is no denying that Kevin Breit continues to be an innovative and enigmatic musician. Breit has once again showcased his musical prowess through his release Ernesto and Delilah with his instrumental skills, vocals, and songwriting.
Known for his diversity, fluidity and creativity, the June 25th concert will be an evening to remember. As actor and musician Hugh Laurie once quipped, “Kevin Breit never plays the same thing once”.
