Hardcore hip-hop group M.O.P. broke into the mainstream in 2000 with the electric single “Ante Up” off their Billboard-charting album Warriorz. After a prolonged absence following the release, they have been busy again in recent years, lending their aggressive lyrical style and knack for catchy beats to projects with such rap luminaries as 50 Cent (“When Death Becomes You”) and Wu-Tang Clan (Legendary Weapons). But the live setting is the place to catch this electric Brooklyn duo, and Los Angeles’ retro club Los Globos is the setting to do it in.
