The madcap, Oscar-winning adventures of bumbling inventor Wallace and his loyal canine companion Gromit have entertained filmgoing audiences the world over for 25 years. Now the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will spotlight the shorts that established the stop-motion twosome’s beloved reputation. At this Samuel Goldwyn Theater event in Beverly Hills, Aardman Animations’ co-founder David Sproxton and cinematographer Dave Alex Riddett will take you behind the scenes and discuss how these meticulously handcrafted comedic gems were made. In addition, the classic quartet of Wallace and Gromit shorts — from their outer-space adventure A Grand Day Out to their dyed-in-the-wool thriller A Close Shave — will screen in world-premiering restorations by Aardman and the Academy Film Archive.
