But all hell breaks loose when the subject of the child’s name is broached. Following is different type of dinner party gone awry: Ivano De Matteo’s 2014 film The Dinner. This superb adaptation of Herman Koch’s bestseller will give any parent nightmares, as it depicts two unsuspecting couples learning of their teenagers’ heinous alleged misdeeds. De Matteo skillfully plays on your assumptions from start to devastating finish in this drama focused on today’s culture of violence.
