The extremely conformist MP Cory Bernardi has needled anger in his party by coming forward to help out an Islamaphobic Dutch official who is setting up to visit Australia. Geert Wilders, a significant figure in the Dutch parliament, equated the Quran to Mein Kampf and labeled the Muslin Prophet Muhammad a paedophile.

Senator Bernardi convened with Mr Wilders on his latest tour to the Netherlands. According to Bernardi, ”He did indicate that he was considering coming to Australia and I extended an invitation to assist him with his schedule or arranging appropriate meetings.’

The eye-opening act has infuriated moderationists of the Liberal Party and asked the senator, parliamentary secretary to the Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, to be forsaken from his seat. The Herald realizes some higher-ranking Liberal frontbenchers were planning yesterday to raise Senator Bernardi’s behavior with Mr Abbott.

One of the Liberals said: ”Cory has crossed the line.”

Later Senator Bernardi added: “I wish to make it very clear that neither I nor the Coalition are organising a visit to Australia by Mr Wilders. Mr Wilders’s travel arrangements are a matter for Mr Wilders.”

  1. Australia is now re-introducing witch hunts? Has Australia just come back from Mars after missing anything that happened in the last 10 years on earth?

Mr. Wilders has not been found guilty of any crime in the Netherlands. Actually, he could well be the current record holder of having received the most death threats of any politician on earth, and these threats weren’t made by disgruntled Belgians.

To bring you up to speed, in these last 10 years, the Netherlands have had two high profile assassinations of public figures who were critical of both Islam and unchecked pan-nationalism (EU). One was the film maker Theo van Gogh who had dared to question the treatment of women in Islam and the other was Pim Fortuyn eliminated just a few days before the election that would have made him almost certainly the next Dutch prime minister.

As Pim Fortuyn was the intellectual grandfather of the current movement now embodied by Geert Wilders, by your current standards, you would have questioned anybody that might have affiliated him or herself with an elected prime minister of a befriended country??????

The Australian political elites and main stream media must have left their common sense behind on Mars.

  2. When I criticise an islamic injustice against women (castration for example), I am called a racist and told I am guilty of hate speech.

When Mr. Wilders calls for freedom of expression, equality for women, and a liberal democratic rule – not shari’ah – you call him Islamaphobic.

What then is your speech if not hate-speech? Do you conscomment_IDer yourself a bigot or will you first listen to Mr. Wilders and then judge him on what he actually says?
Do you believe that atheists should be killed for blasphemy?

And you are right, Muhammed was probably not a paedophile, merely a child rapist – since a nine year old girl does not constitute a consenting adult.

Before you leap in horror and start insulting me, ask an imam!

Funny how when you insult me it is freedom of speech, when I have an opinion, it is suddenly hate-speech.

  3. I support Cory Bernardi and Geert Wilders. They are telling the truth about Islam. It is time our politicians woke up to the threat this comment_content_IDeology has for all of us. People need to read the Koran.
