The RCMP’s Federal Drug Enforcement Branch (DEB) has arrested eight people and seized tons of dangerous chemicals as part of an investigation into a group that was trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine and marihuana.

On April 4, 2011, the RCMP Greater Vancouver Drug Section, with the assistance of Burnaby and Surrey RCMP Detachments, used warrants to search six homes and make the arrests.

Seized during this investigation was approximately 20 kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of methamphetamine, two kilograms of marihuana, two tons of a highly-toxic, highly-flammable, extremely corrosive chemical which could be used for the production of MDMA (ecstasy), and a large pill press. Other dangerous chemicals were found stored in an East Vancouver home near a local restaurant. Police also seized approximately $250,000.00 in cash and three motor vehicles.

Among the eight arrested were three men on federal parole. As a result of this RCMP investigation, Correctional Service of Canada issued warrants for 44-year-old Allen Brian Fehr of Burnaby, 44-year-old Lance Trevor Pettman of Kelowna and 49-year-old James Peter Jenner of Winnipeg, Manitoba. All three men have now been returned to prison.

Fehr, Pettman and Jenner, along with two other men and three women arrested in this investigation, will likely be facing new charges for offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. With the exception of Jenner, all of the suspects are from Vancouver or Burnaby.

This investigation is by no means over. The RCMP Greater Vancouver Drug Section is still determining the scope of operations for this group from both a geographic and volume perspective.
