The Hamilton Police Service is investigating an early morning robbery that happened in Hamilton’s west end and is asking witnesses to contact investigators with information.

Earlier today, at approximately 2:30 a.m., two men were standing in front of Canwest Editorial Services located at 1605 Main St. W. when they were approached by two other men. After a brief conversation the two male suspects told the victims to come with them as they had a gun. They were forced to get in a van that was parked on the east side of the Canwest building by the Wendy’s restaurant.

Once inside the van, the driver pointed a gun at the victims, both 24 yr. old men from Hamilton. They were driven to two different bank locations where they were forced to remove money from their bank accounts. The suspects smashed the cell phones belonging to the victims and then they fled leaving the victims behind. The victims flagged down a passing police cruiser in the area of Main St. W. and Summer’s Lane to report the robbery.

The Hamilton Police Service Division One Detective office is continuing to investigate. The suspects are briefly described as males in their late 20’s and the van involved is described as being silver in colour.
