Three people arrested for aggravated assault at a house party in Winnipeg

On August 18, 2010 at approximately 4:20 a.m., Uniform members were dispatched to a residence in the area of the 1400 block of Winnipeg Avenue regarding an assault related matter.

The investigation has revealed that a 30 year old male victim attended to a house party uninvited. While in attendance, the victim was asked to leave on several occasions but he refused. Eventually the victim complied only after removing an air conditioning unit from a window outside the residence.

It was at this time three partygoers allegedly confronted the victim and tackled him to the ground. They proceeded to assault the victim about the body repeatedly. The victim was also peppered sprayed and stabbed during the course of the incident.

While the victim lay motionless, one of the suspects proceeded to rob the victim of his property.

Attending officers located the victim at which time he was transported to hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.

Officers subsequently located several people at the residence who were taken into police custody.

A 17 year old female has been charged with the following offences: Aggravated Assault, Robbery with a Weapon

Joel Stephen CHARTRAND, 20 years has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

Lance Stefan COMEAU, 20 years has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Robbery with a Weapon.

They have been detained in custody.
