Aside from Shrek, Eddie Murphy’s movie career has been lukewarm and he’s turning back to TV and his old stand-by “Beverly Hills Cop.” Eddie’s role as Axel Foley in the movie made him a big movie star. Now Eddie and the creator of “TheShield,” Shawn Ryan, have a TV series based on Beverly Hills Cop that they are pitching to various networks. In the series Eddie would play the chief of police and his “son,“ a new cop on the force, would be the real star. Eddie would only make occasional appearances. We’re guessing one of the networks will snap this up in a hurry.
