Amidst work commitments, if there is one initiative that Arjun Rampal desperately wants to dedicate his time to, it is for his fight against the most dreaded disease – cancer. Very few may be aware that the actor’s mother Gwen Rampal is a breast cancer survivor and ever since he has seen her struggle, he decided to do his bit for cancer patients.
Recently, Arjun Rampal announced that he will be taking a step forward in his campaign for cancer patients and will be launching Gwen Rampal Foundation very soon. He further went on to mention that this is an attempt to spread awareness about the illness especially among women and he also wants everyone to receive the opportunity to treat themselves. Maintaining that he is one of the lucky ones to afford the treatment that is required for this, Arjun wants his initiative to focus on affordable rates for treatment and terms it as ‘offering hope’ to poor families.
From what we hear, the actor has already started work on his foundation and has collaborated with a group of international experts for the same. He stated that he wants to start this as a small initiative now but he has specialized doctors who too will be flying down from various countries as a part of this program. He also has plans to tie up with local hospitals that can treat a certain number of patients annually free of cost.
Last seen in Rock On 2, Arjun Rampal is gearing up for yet another release next week with Kahaani 2. The actor also has Daddy a film loosely based on the life of gangster Arun Gawli in the pipeline and then will kick start Aankhen 2 early next year.
