Shruti Haasan has always stood up for women’s safety and rights and also has done what is right. Bollywood Hungama Content Head Broadband, Faridoon Shahryar, had a candid conversation with her in Lucknow as she was shooting for her upcoming film with Rajkummar Rao-Gautam Gulati Behen Hogi Teri.

Shruti on the negativity around women on social media said, “It is not negative comments that bother me, opinions are opinions, it’s more about safety. I think India is not the safest place for women. So it’s women’s safety that I keep repeating again and again because I believe in that. I am a woman. I have a sister. I have a mom and we are all single women. So safety is a very big concern.”

Shruti, recently, also filed a police complaint against Karnataka-based doctor K G Guruprasad, who has been sending her abusive and derogatory messages via Twitter since September 7, 2016. She had earlier been attacked by a stalker in her home in Bandra, Mumbai in 2013. It’s very brave of her to stand opposite the evils of social media and real life. We wish the actress all the very best for her courage and inspiring every woman out there.
