“I don’t know how Harshvardhan Kapoor got the script of Farzi but I haven’t given it to him” - Raj Nidimoru

It’s an unusual situation for directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Their upcoming film Farzi, a thriller is in the news and various actors have been expressing their interest in it in various ways. But the biggest shock came to the director duo when they were told that Harshvardhan Kapoor has apparently read the script and been telling his friends that he didn’t like it and rejected it. Raj and DK have been chilling since the release of their last film A Gentleman and have been on a short break so the news comes as a bit of a surprise as they haven’t even started work beyond the first draft.

Says a source, “Harshvardhan Kapoor has apparently been telling his friends and family that he has read the script of Farzi, but didn’t like it so he turned it down. This is quite shocking for the filmmakers and producers as the script is not even ready so one wonders who sent it to him. In a development, earlier this month, Arjun Kapoor, who had been approached for Farzi, by Raj and Krishna, had turned it down because of date issues and recommended the film to his cousin brother, Harshvardhan. Kriti Sanon is playing the female lead in the film.”

Raj Nidimoru says, “I don’t know where you have heard this from but I haven’t given the script of Farzi to anybody for reading it. I don’t know how he has got the script but I haven’t given it to him. Harsh had called me expressing interest in Farzi but we haven’t had time to sit and chat as he’s been busy also with his prepping for his next film. Maybe one of these days we will sit and discuss the project. We haven’t even worked on the complete script, we just have the base script, as we are on a break after A Gentleman released. We still have to sit down and write it properly and it will take off probably after a few weeks so I don’t know who is saying what. We are writing the script of the sequel to Go Goa Gone first and then once I am done with that, I will focus on Farzi. With Farzi right now, I haven’t even written a proper draft. We don’t know which film I will do first as we are not in a hurry. I am feeling a lot of hurrying from everybody else (laughs) and pressure to announce the film but I just want to right now chill for a bit before we start our next. I think everybody seems to be quite excited about Farzi!”

Harshvardhan Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.
