London Paris New York released around a month back while Bittoo Boss is all set to release this weekend. However, if only the two films would have been more spaced out, they could have boasted of the same leading man – Ali Zafar.

"Yes, Ali was one of the first choices when Bittoo Bosswas conceptualized", informs our source, "It was felt that his boyish charm would do the trick in this film about a V.D.O. shooter."

In fact Ali heard out the script as well and showed keen interest in doing the film as well. However around the same time he had also given a nod of approval to London Paris New York. Since he had to travel worldwide for the shoot of his romcom, he was a tad indecisive about consenting to Bittoo Boss.

"There were severe date issues and the makers of Bittoo Bosscouldn’t wait since they have 3-4 other movies in the pipeline that they had to kick-start soon. It was amicably decided to look for a replacement", the source continues.

This is when the choices were as diverse as Vivek Oberoi to Rannvijay Singh. However all of this was basically in thin air and the only person who was a strong contender in the scheme of things was Aditya Roy Kapur who had seen good recognition coming his way post Action Replayy and Guzaarish.

"However he had his own ideas around the film and the way he wanted to approach the character", says the source, "Things didn’t really work out with him as producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek along with director Babul decided to stop looking for anyone from within the industry and instead begin hunt for a new face."

This is how Pulkit Samrat, an untried and untested face, came into the picture and rest, as they say, is history. Says Babul, "All is well that ends well. Yes, there were quite a few other names that were discussed but we are glad that Pulkit is the man for the job. No one else could have played Bittoo Boss better than him."
