Here is her journey from being a dance and yoga instructor to the amazing actor with blockbuster films she has had. During her college days, Sanya had joined choreography society to learn new dance forms and techniques. To continue her passion, Sanya joined a ballet company as an instructor and eventually to explore dance ahead, she had joined a school as a dance teacher. Remembering her initial days, Sanya shared, “I was paid Rs 15,000 and I gave my first salary to my parents.”

Sanya auditioned for a few months and during the course of time, she used to teach yoga to aunties in her building. After many auditions and doing 2-3 advertisements, Sanya received a call from casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s office for a film which was for a second lead but the film eventually got shelved.
However, a few months later Sanya received another call from Mukesh’s office, this time for the main character in Dangal. Sanya had auditioned and given the screen test for the same and forgotten about it until she was informed that Aamir Khan wanted to meet her. Sanya was in Delhi then to celebrate her mother’s birthday and returned to Mumbai immediately only to discover that 20 other girls had also been shortlisted.
