He debuted with the critically acclaimed Sikandar but was first noticed in Aisha where he had the girls going ga-ga over him. He delivered yet another powerful performance in Yeh Saali Zindagi which won him a lot of praise. Now Arunoday is in a position where every guy would dream to be in his shoes. After all, he is romancing the beautiful Sunny Leone in his upcoming film Jism 2. Bollywood Hungama's Nikhil Ramsubramaniam caught up with Arunoday and got chatting on his role in Jism 2, shooting those intimate scenes with Sunny Leone and his experience working with the Bhatts. Read on…

You got a lot of appreciation for your roles in Aisha and Yeh Saali Zindagi especially from your female fans…why have you been MIA (Missing in Action) thereafter?
It's not a personal choice. I was just waiting for good work to come my way. I'd love to harass my fans every other month with a release of mine but unfortunately it's not in my hands (smiles). I've been selective in choosing only the best from what I've been offered.

What was your first reaction when you were offered Jism 2?
Pooja and Mahesh Bhatt saab approached me and narrated the script. I immediately knew that it would be a highly watched film. There was a huge buzz when they signed Sunny Leone and I thought the casting of Sunny was a sheer marketing genius. Bhatt saab has this uncanny way of gauging things and when he saw me speaking to Pooja during the narration, he said, "Yeh Bachcha Kar Lega". I know what people are expecting from Jism 2 and they will get what they want (smiles). But beyond all of that, the film boasts of a really well-done, emotional story of all 3 characters.

You play a cop in the film; tell us more about the character?
My character's name is Ayaan. He is more of an intelligence officer rather than a cop per se. He is young, ambitious; an alpha-male so to say. He is part of a team that is on the look out for a terrorist / assassin (played by Randeep Hooda). The only known acquaintance / associate of Randeep is Izna (played by Sunny Leone). So Sunny and my character are sent as an undercover couple to bump into Randeep's character accidentally and trying to see whether they can trap him using her.

The film has obviously generated a lot of buzz because of Sunny Leone…how was it sharing screen space with her and shooting all those intimate scenes?
I've never really had any problems shooting for romantic scenes or love-making scenes. I always get amused when I am asked these questions. Can you imagine being paid to kiss a beautiful woman? That's my job. Having said that, most of these scenes are shot in a technical way so you have to feed off your co-star and it can get a bit iffy at times. Sunny was wonderful especially considering that she is working in her first ever Bollywood film. It's a very interesting and powerful debut.

Arunoday SinghHow was it working with Randeep Hooda?
We share a great camaraderie off set which made things a lot of fun. We aren't really the best of friends yet we got along pretty well. If I get a chance to do another film with him, I'd be more than happy. He is chilled out guy and a phenomenal actor. You have to see him perform in this film.

This is you first film with the Bhatts…how was the experience?
I know it's a rather clichéd answer but I have had a wonderful time working with the Bhatts. I was warned about how fierce Pooja Bhatt is and how intimidating Bhatt saab can be with his intellect but thankfully they are just rumours. Pooja is of-course fierce, she will even yell at you but only if you have not done your job properly. Bhatt saab is one of the most intelligent men I've met other than Sudhir Mishra. He reminded me a lot of Sudhir.

The music of the film has really caught on big time. Which is your favourite track?
I like 'Maula'- the track which is picturised on Randeep. I also like my romantic number with Sunny- 'Abhi Abhi'

Finally what are your future projects?
I am working with Rensil D'Silva next on his directorial venture. It's more of a cameo but it's an interesting role. When he narrated it to me, I just couldn't say no. There are a couple of other projects in the pipeline. I am hoping to work with Sudhir again soon. He has a script in mind but is currently busy finishing Inkaar. There is another very interesting project but I can't really speak about it right now.
