Vijaya Nirmala, who is a much respected filmmaker in Tollywood, passed away a day ago after suffering from a heart attack. The news of the same, needless to say, came as a shock to the industry as many came forth to pay respects to the respected director. Amongst them were superstar Mahesh Babu and his wife, megastar Chiranjeevi amongst others who visited to pay their last respects.

Pawan Kalyan, Lakshmi Manchu amongst many other celebrities and high profile politicians too came to share their condolences. The final rites of the filmmaker were held today. Readers may not be aware that Mahesh Babu is the stepson of Vijaya Nirmala who was married to his father, superstar Krishna. She had a son named Naresh from her first husband.

Vijaya Nirmala breathed her last in Continental Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad at the age of 75. While she has many achievements to her credit, she also has her name in Guinness book of records for directing maximum number films in Tollywood as a female director.
