Of late, when small to medium budget films, high on content, are doing exceptionally well with the ones like Yaariyan and Highway, Bhoothnath Returns certainly had a bag load of positives like a perfect solo release date that coincided with the election season across the nation, a big name in its cast, good marketing and most importantly good content. Cost of the film

Total production cost is said to be Rs. 29 crores out of which Rs. 20 crores is the Cost of Production while the rest Rs. 9 crores was spent on Publicity and Advertising

Recoveries

Bhoothnath Returns has earned approximately Rs. 30.14 crores in the domestic market in a span of one week.

Moreover, talking about the satellite rights, the film was sold to Sony for Rs. 21 crores

However, the overseas collections (U.S. – Rs. 46.31 lacs, Canada -6.58 lacs, UK and Ireland-Rs. 61.91 lacs, Australia – 9.48 lacs and the rest – Rs. 9.30 lacs) and collections through music, ancillary rights, home video earnings and mobile platform haven't been taken into consideration.
