Sajid Nadiadwala enjoys family time in his birthday week

Sajid Nadiadwala has been making movies across genres for over 20 years. However, during his last week's continued celebrations at the Nadiad household, everything was pretty much inspired by Sooraj Barjatya and the Rajshri tradition. Reason? Over 100 guests came together at his residence from different parts of the world, with many flying down from as far as U.S., London and Dubai.
"Sajid just turned 49, and now he is just one short of 50. He wanted to make this one really special," informs a family friend, "Instead of hosting a filmy party, he wanted to spend time with his family. Along with wife Wardha, there were impeccable plans put together. Guests started flying down over the weekend gone by and by Wednesday, the day of his birthday; he had as many as 100 guests assembled at his place."

"With 'chacha chachi', 'mama mami', aunts, uncles, grandmothers, nieces and nephews around, the Nadiad household resembled a Sooraj Barjatya film now. No wonder, Sajid truly believes that this is a 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' moment in his life," the friend continues.

There are quite a few reasons to celebrate for Sajid Nadiadwala. After all, the year gone by has been the best of his professional career, what with Kick, 2 States, Heropanti and Highway turning out to be successes. With him being one of the few independent filmmakers (other than Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar) to build an empire of his own, it was only imperative that he spent some eventful times with his close ones this year.

When contacted, Sajid voice sounded of gratitude, "It is in times like these, when one should not forget what God has given you and how your family has stood by you. It fills my heart to see elders as well as toddlers come together to celebrate with me, despite being thousands of miles away. They have showered so much love and affection on me."

No wonder, 'party kaafi baaki thi' for Sajid as quite a few guests stayed over right till the weekend, hence making it a weeklong celebration for him and his family. With the start of a New Year, it would be back to the grind for Sajid as he would get busy with as many as half a dozen films which are in different stages of production, namely Phantom, Tamasha, Baaghi, Housefull 3, Dhishoom and one more which would be announced soon.
