USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…With constantly increasing crimes against women, many Bollywood celebrities have been extending their support for the cause of women empowerment. And the recent one to announce such an initiative was Freida Pinto.
Frieda Pinto along with award winning actress Priyanka Chopra has produced a film titled Girl Rising – Woh Padhegi, Woh Udegi starring many Bollywood actresses including Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Sushmita Sen and Nandita Das along with megastar Amitabh Bachchan giving a voice over for the same. The initiative is taken in association with the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign and Star TV. According to Priyanka Chopra, who is also the face of 'Save the Girl Child' initiative, the film will include real life stories highlighting the positive impact that education can have on young girls.
The film Girl Rising – Woh Padhegi, Woh Udegi will be aired on August 29, to celebrate the occasion of Raksha Bandhan at 1.30 pm.
