Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…While several celebrities have time and again expressed their support towards animal welfare with many even turning vegans, some of them have now decided to take action against the cruel ways in which animals are being treated. Renowned Bollywood actors have come together to sign a petition along with PETA for betterment of animal protection laws.

Amongst the celebrities, the names include that of Jacqueline Fernandez, John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Raveena Tandon who have collaborated with cricketers like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane for the cause. They have signed a petition calling upon the government to strengthen animal protection laws. Revealing details of the same, CEO PETA India, Poorva Joshipura stated that the country has weak and outdated laws for animals which require strengthening in order to protect them from being neglected, abused or killed. This petition also focuses on severe punishments for the ones harming animals including jail sentence, psychological counselling and even being banned from interaction with animals.
