On September 28, 2017, as a result of an extensive investigation and Project Bombard, charges of second degree murder were laid against 53-year-old Allan Potter and 35-year-old Daniel Leonard, in the death of Dale Porter.

Following further investigation and in consultation with the Crown Attorney’s Office, these charges were upgraded to first degree murder in Harbour Grace Provincial Court on Friday, February 10, 2017. As well, Mr. Leonard is facing an additional charge of accessory after the fact.
