1 cup toovar dal
3 tsp Dhania
2 tsp channa dal
6 red chillies
¼ tsp methi
2 small onion, chopped
2 tsp imli paste
3 tsp grated coconut
4 green chillies
¼ tsp haldi
a small bunch cilantro, finely chopped
a few curry leaves
½ tsp mustard
2 tsp cooking oil
salt to taste
Cook toovar dal and haldi with extra water and separate the two. Keep aside.
Sauté channa dal, red chillies, dhania, methi, and little onion.
Grind this mixture with tomato and coconut.
Sauté onions and green chillies in a pan for a few minutes and cook this in the toovar dal water with salt.
After it is cooked, put imli paste and cook for a few minutes
Lasty, put the masala.
After this is cooked add the cooked toovar dal.
Heat little oil in a pan, splutter mustard and add this to the sambhar.
Garnish with cilantro and curry leaves.
