Chapter Two: Gracie’s Second Encounter

Gracie found to her slight dismay that the school was completely empty. Not a student or a class in sight. Standing there feeling quite puzzled, she didn’t know what to think. In her mind she heard Ganesha’s last words to her. “No problem is too pink!” She also heard, “If you think it’s pink, it is!” Looking down at her heels to see if Musika was with her, she discovered that he wasn’t, in fact, he wasn’t anywhere. The little pink rascal! She was all on her own. The elderly gentleman who let her in reminded her very much of her father, except that he was very obviously Indian. He wore a pink turban on his head and a pink and gold brocade vest with large pink and white puffy pants. Holding onto a mop and broom, he spoke to her and asked if there was something he could do to help her. Obviously he was in charge of the cleaning. Gracie replied that she thought there should be a class today at that time and wanted to know if there was anyone there that she could speak with about it. Then she remembered her manners and introduced herself to him. He reciprocated and introduced himself saying that he was very happy to make her acquaintance and that she could feel welcome to simply call him Das. His full name was Das Gulab Rani, which he explained meant ‘servant of the pink queen’. That being all set aside, Gracie once again mentioned that she thought that there was a Yoga class that afternoon. Das said to Gracie, “I don’t know anything about that but I think that our instructor, Muriel, will be able to help you if you can wait just a minute”. Gracie nodded her head in agreement. Das disappeared through a door and Gracie decided to take out her Yoga mat to sit upon. Musika was still nowhere to be found and Gracie wished for his companionship. She took the folded up X17 Yoga mat and shook it out. Voila, the entire mat opened up completely and she put in on the floor and was sitting on it when Muriel came through the door and walked towards her with a beautiful beaming smile.

“I’m Muriel and I know that your name is Gracie. Das told me. I’m sorry that you came here and didn’t find a class today. I’d be glad to give you a class right now, if you’ll just give me a moment to collect my things”. With that she went back through the door and returned quickly with a Yoga mat. Placing it on the floor in front of Gracie, she said very gracefully down onto it. She was dressed in the same outfit as Das. She clapped her hands and pink glitter began to pouf out and waft up and swirl all around. As it began to settle, Muriel no longer looked like Muriel. She looked like a beautiful Indian goddess. Gracie began to rub her eyes in disbelief, when Muriel spoke gently.
