The match was attended thousands of spectators including senior government officials and the league was organized by the county football association in collaboration with Aweil Stars state club funded by the national Trade, Commerce and Investment Minister, Garang Diing Akuong.
Akuong is also a shareholder of Aweil Stars Club and the winning team was said to have been awarded an unknown amount of money.
Speaking to the journalists at Mabil County football grounds, Mr. Akuei Aleu who is the County Football chairperson in Aweil East County said the game was very successful.
The final was played without any problem in a peaceful manner as the games commenced in November 2012 of which both second and first class teams took part in the race.
The games involved 36 six teams from Aweil East County payams to promote soccer and other games at the county and payam levels.
After formation of the county football association in 2006, the association gained its strength in promoting unity and peace amongst youth and host community in the greater Mading Aweil community.
In embracing sports in the state, there was a call from Women Football Association chairlady and deputy last week where the women football league Association in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state had called on the girls’ parents and guardians to allow their girls join sports for alternative eradication of illiteracy.
Last week the inter-school girl’s competitions were organized alongside with other various games including Taekwondo and boxing.
