While addressing the Crisis Management Committee and state government officials, Igga said his visit is aimed at coordinating with the going work of the committee throughout the country.

“Am very happy to our state special forces and state government in Wau for making Western Bahr el Ghazal state a peaceful state during this country’s violence,” said Wani.

Kiir appointed his Vice President James Wani Igga as Chair of Crisis Management Committee (CMC) deputized by former National Parliament Assembly former deputy speaker Daniel Awet Akot.

The team will assess the political, social, economic, security and diplomatic impact of the attempted coup and provide strategies for mitigating the consequences of the attempted coup.

The committee is tasked to formulate an awareness raising strategy, targeting the population, region and the world, about the underlying realities of the attempted coup and provide daily briefing to the leadership of the latest development and to undertake any task that the CMC deem necessary.

However talks were cut short as the VP will today evening address state intellectuals, political parties, constitutional post holders, parliamentarians, SPLM secretariat, civil society members, trade union, Commerce Chamber and members from the United Nation Mission in South Sudan.
