New Delhi: Bhartiya Janta Party leader Yashwant Sinha wrote a letter to Joint Parliamentary Committee by requesting to interrogate P. Chidambaram as he was the finance minster during the telecom scandal for his alleged involvement.

The sources said on Thursday that, Sinha sent the letter to PC Chacko on Wednesday, chairman of JPC who is examining India’s telecom policies from the year 1998-2008. In fact the sources are also saying that, the whole JPC committee members are asking for the interrogation session of the other former finance ministers also for the 2G scam. Chacko told to the media people that, he is collecting all the letters of the JPC members & will show to the next meeting where all the members will unanimously decide that whom to call for the interrogation session.

He also said politicians, that the former telecom ministers & finance ministers will appear before the committee after it was done with quizzing all other witnesses, including former telecom officials & representatives of private telecom firms who had allegedly benefited during former IT & telecom minister A.Raja. Raja who is in Tihar jail right now & have dragged Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh & P.Chidambaram in the 2G scam. During the court hearing, Raja accused Manmohan Singh for not constituting a group of ministers (GoM) for the 2G spectrum. He also wanted to call Chidamabaram as the witness in the case at court.
