New Delhi: For the cash-for-vote case, a Delhi Court issued summons against the former Samajwadi Party General Secretary, Amar Singh, BJP leader LK Advani’s former aide Shudheerendra Kulkarni & other BJP MPs. The court instructed them to be present during the trial on September 6, 2011.

Special Judge, Sangita Dhingra Sehgal also issued production warrant against Amar Singh’s former supporter Sanjeev Saxena & alleged BJP futuristic Suhail Hindustani, who is right now in Tihar Jail. The court has also instructed to the six MPs to present during the hearing. Among them, the important people are BJP MP Faggan Singh Kulaste, & Mahabir Singh Bhagora. The court will take the cognizance from the Delhi Police charge sheet, filed on Wednesday before it.

“I take cognizance of all the offences mentioned in the charge sheet,” the judge said. Delhi police have mentioned these six people’s role in the scam, involving payment of bribes to some MPs to win their votes in trust motion, piloted by the Congress-UPA government. While issuing the summon, Delhi Court asked the Delhi Police that why Amar Singh, Kulaste, Bhagora, & Kulkarni were not arrested earlier with the other two people. “Is there any special reason for not arresting them,” the judge asked.

Public Prosecutor Rajeev Mohan, emerging for the Crime Branch of Delhi police, told the court that the four were not arrested as their custodial interrogation was not required. Mr. Mohan, however, appealed the judge to take cognizance and issue summons against all the six accused.
