Hillary Clinton the U.S Secretary of State arrived in Islamabad on Thursday night with the aim of defusing tensions between the two nations due to threats given by top U.S military leaders.

Hillary Clinton met Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday night and both agreed on taking necessary actions to reduce tensions.

Earlier before landing in Islamabad Hillary Clinton held talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul, where she vowed to press hard Pakistan to take action against the armed militants.

During her two day visit she will also hold talks with President Asif Ali, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and other Political leaders of Pakistan.

New US Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey, Central Intelligence Agency Director David Patraeus and Under-Secretary of Defence for Policy Michele Flournoy and U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman were also present.
