A 26 year old man was arrested by police authorities in Delhi for allegedly killing his first wife four days ago.
According to the statement released by the Delhi Police the murderer named Ashwani Shanker who is 26 years old, was living with his second wife at Shakti Vihar. He murdered his first wife by strangling her with a nylon rope and then slitting her throat with a knife.
Shanker remarried and was living with his new wife, which according to the police authorities was the reason behind murdering his first wife.
Ajay Chaudhri, Addtitional Commissioner of Police, said, “When police entered the room, Sheetal’s body was lying in a pool of blood. Her neck was slit with a sharp object. There were no eyewitnesses to the incident.”
Police said once the victim was identified as the wife of Ashwani, a hunt was launched for him as he was not to be found.
“The accused was traced to the Jhuggi Colony in Satya Niketan,” police said.
When the Delhi police carried out detailed search operation in the room, they got hold of a piece of paper with the contact number of one of the relatives of the deceased woman.
A day before the murder, Ashwani and Sheetal had a heated argument over some issue and he decided to eliminate her.
