According to the media announcement on Thursday, the Committee of Inquiry (COI) will commence the hearing of the two major MRT disruptions on April 16.

The COI put together to investigate the reason behind the major MRT service disruption in December the last year has made the announcement that it will start the hearing process from Monday, 16, 2012. The hearing for the case is open to the general public to attend. It will take place at the Subordinate Courts in Court 1. The case in question is about the two severe train disruptions taking place on December 15 and December 17, 2011 affecting approximately 200,000 plus commuters.

Alongside conducting a public hearing, the court has also announced for all parties concerned with the case, directly or indirectly, to participate with all evidence and witnesses. Those who wish to be a part of the hearing have been instructed to get in touch with the COI secretary Mr. Sidney Koh.

At the time of the announcement for the commencement of the hearing, the COI also said that it understands that they need to incorporate the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and SMRT in order to make sure that a comprehensive investigation has been conducted prior to the beginning of the public trial in accordance to the Terms of Conditions as instructed by the Ministry of Transport.
