Violence once again strikes Karachi

According to police information, armed men are moving around the city creating violence in an attempt to destabilize the peace and harmony of the city once again. These men are reported to have torched 24 plus vehicles since morning forcing all schools, colleges, offices, shopping areas, and business centers to shut down on Tuesday.

The violence and the disturbance struck the city once again shortly after an activist belonging to the Mutahida Qoumi Movement (MQM) outside his house on Tuesday. Reports mentioned that armed men opened fire on the member of the MQM party outside his house killing one of the activists on the spot whereas another man and woman of the family got hurt and are under treatment in the nearby hospital.

Reports have been filed from a number of residential areas where armed men have been seen creating violence in the street and destabilizing the political and economic state of the most important city of Pakistan.

Student examinations have once again been postponed until the situation in the city stabilizes and it’s safe for citizens to step out of their homes without risking their lives. The leader of MQM Altaf Hussain has called for a day of mourning for the deceased and blamed the killing on a local gang.
