The entire province of Punjab has been closed down as the Bundh embarks on a day long protest against the execution of Balwant Singh Rajoana for killing the ex-chief minister of Punjab Beant Singh. The protest call initiated by one of the Sikh radical organization was joined by a bunch of others making the crowd into a mass on Wednesday.

The organizers of the protest have announced and asked people to give one day of their life to protest against the execution of their Sikh brother by not giving not to work and wearing saffron dupattas and turbans to show support to Rajoana. Heavy security has been installed to ensure nothing gets violent and that protestors remain secure and safe. Organizations taking part in the protest include Kalsa Action Committee, Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani and Amritsar), and Dal Khalsa. A number of other youth organizations also joined the protest. However, only a few were seen wearing the saffron turbans and dupattas.

The main source of protest is in Patiala City where Rajoana is in jail at the moment. Various police departments have been deployed in protest places to ensure that protestors do not harm any individual or property.
