1 killed 6 hurt in Robinson’s grenade robbery

At least six individuals got hurt and one security officer was declared dead in the attack at the Robinsons Galleria at Brazen Mall Thursday morning.

Two armed individuals seemingly aware of the morning routine of the Security Banks roving teller of cash delivery to the cash changer of the mall. The armed men forced their way inside as the tellers and the guards reached the money changer at the side of the mall prior to the opening of the mall. The robbers shot all four individuals which proved fatal for one of the guards. The incident took place around 9 am in Quezon City.

The security alarm of the mall took off within 15 minutes of the attack. The police authorities responded to the alarm and reached the mall in no time. However, the robbers had committed the crime in the meanwhile and took off on a motor bike  towards Ortigas, Pasig. Robbers threw a grenade at the spectators of the incident before rushing off on the bike to ensure no one follows. The grenade injured another three individuals present at the crime scene.

Wounded individuals were taken to Medical City immediately whereas the initial investigating teams complete their work and reopened the mall for public. Detailed investigation is still taking place.
