A 16-year-old male has been charged in connection with a violent assault on an employee in a group home.

The EPS received a report of an assault at 12:46 a.m. this morning (March 16, 2011) at a group home in the area of 122 Avenue and 86 Street. A suspect allegedly gained entry into the residence and a 51-year-old female employee was severely beaten. A small amount of money was also taken from the victim’s purse.

She remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

The 16-year-old male was arrested without incident at the scene while leaving the group home and charged with aggravated assault, break and enter, disguised with intent, and robbery (x2).
