The RCMP have been able to identify the victim of a head-on crash last night on Route 10 in Roachville, N.B.

The collision occurred when the victim’s vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a pulp truck. Both vehicles caught on fire. While the driver of the pulp truck escaped with minor injuries, the driver of the other vehicle was not able to escape and died at the scene. His body was badly burned making positive identification difficult.

The police have now identified him as a 46-year-old man from Oromocto, N.B. His family has asked that his name not be released at this time until they are able to notify other members of the family.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
