On Sunday, March 27, 2011, the Greek Community of Toronto will be hosting the Greek Independence Day Parade in the downtown area.

The parade will start forming up at Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute at 11 a.m., and at 1 p.m., and the parade will proceed over the following route:

Parade route:

– Assembly area: Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute, 16 Phin Ave,
– north Euston Avenue,
– west Danforth Avenue,
– Dispersal Area: Danforth Avenue – west of Jackman Avenue.

During this event Danforth Avenue will be closed between Donlands Avenue and Broadview Avenue

The organizers are expecting thousands to participate in the event. Some disruption of traffic in the area is expected.
