On Sunday, May 8, 2011, the 10th annual Meagan’s Walk charity event will take place from Ontario Place to the Hospital for Sick Children.

The 4,000 participants will start the walk at 10 a.m. and proceed along the route via sidewalks only.

There will be a full road closure in effect on Elizabeth Street, between Gerrard Street West and Elm Street.

Walkathon route:

Formation area: Ontario Place, east parking lot, starts at 8:30 a.m.,
Eastbound on the Martin Goodman Trail to Stadium Road,
East Queen’s Quay West, south sidewalk only,
North on Lower Simcoe Street – east sidewalk only,
Eastbound Bremner Boulevard, south sidewalk only,
North on York Street, east sidewalk only to Front Street,
West on Front Street, crossing on the north side to University Avenue,
North on University Avenue- east sidewalk only,
Eastbound Elm Street, north sidewalk only,

Dispersal area: Hospital for Sick Children, front driveway on Elizabeth Street.

TTC vehicles will be permitted through gaps in the event, when safe to do so.

This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
