Drinking and driving lead to fatal crash, McGraw Brook, N.B

On May 22, 2011, at approximately 9 p.m., members of District 6 RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash on the Little Southwest Road, near McGraw Brook, N.B.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the road. The vehicle rolled over and both occupants were ejected. The driver, a 44-year-old man from Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to hospital in Miramichi with unknown injuries.

Alcohol, lack of seatbelt use, poor visibility and driving too fast for the road conditions are all believed to have been contributing factors in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
